How can we help?
Most answers are below. If you're still stuck, email us and a human will reply.
Block sites in Incognito windows
- Open Pomzy and click ⚙ Settings.
- Under Where Pomzy blocks, click Allow next to Incognito windows.
- On the page that opens, turn on Allow in Incognito.
A setting won't stick, or a button does nothing
Usually Chrome is still running an older copy of Pomzy in the background. Pomzy normally fixes this itself by restarting once when you open it. If it doesn't, go to chrome://extensions and click the ↻ reload arrow on Pomzy, then open it again.
A site isn't being blocked
- Blocking is only on during a focus session, a break (unless you turned that off), or a schedule.
- Check the site is on your list in the Block tab. Subdomains are included automatically.
- Pomzy blocks in the Chrome profile it's installed in. Other Chrome profiles and other browsers aren't covered.
- Paid bypasses unblock one site for 5 minutes. The blocked count resets each session.
Study music isn't playing
- Turn on Study music on the Focus tab and start a session. Music only plays during focus time, not in breaks.
- Check your computer's volume and the music volume in Settings.
- Spotify: a pinned "Pomzy Music" tab opens when you lock in. Press ▶ in that tab once. If you only hear 30-second previews, sign in at open.spotify.com in the same Chrome profile.
I'm stuck in Lockdown
That's the point of Lockdown: no bypasses and no quitting until the focus round or task time ends. Breaks work normally afterwards. Turn the Lockdown switch off before your next session if you'd like the usual options back.
Back up or move your data
Settings → Export JSON downloads everything (coins, house, history). On another computer, install Pomzy and use Import. Pomzy doesn't sync on its own because nothing leaves your device.
Uninstall
Right-click the Pomzy icon and choose Remove from Chrome. This deletes all of Pomzy's data from your browser, so export first if you want to keep it.
